School moodle changed interface

The school moodle underwent a radical change today. We discovered a simple way to achieve our familiar style of interface was to embed a web page into the front page. A page from our current intranet was adapted in about 20 mins to produce the desired effect. This will undergo some revision as more subjects are added into moodle. We only want live links so there are only a few buttons currently.

The links have rollovers which reveal the pcs symbol for the subject or idea on the button. PCS symbols are an accepted standard vocabulary for symbols used on communication devices and in a variety of media. You will have noticed me using them in other projects notably in the frog website last year. They are copyright and licenced, and prohibitively expensive for most schools to afford which is very sad. Costs are around 250 per single user disk. For more information.

We also use another very nice friendly set of icons for mail, favorites etc, which we have the rights gifted from the designer to use on our websites. BTW in case you are imagining I created all this lovely stuff it is my colleague Malcolm Ferris who is responsible. To see more of his cool stuff and visit our lovely school go here.
